Longest water slide in Europe in Madrid this Sunday only

But for this Sunday only it could well possibly be the coolest and most exciting European destination, as the longest water slide in Europe, and the second longest in the world, will be set up in the capital for people to enjoy.

The Madrid Multiple Sclerosis Foundation together with Run & Win will install a 400-metre-long water slide in the capital between the hours of 11am and 9pm this Sunday 24 July for just one day.

Proceeds from the entrance fee charged will go to the Madrid Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

The initiative goes under the slogan of “Get Wet for Multiple Sclerosis” or “Mójate por la Esclerosis Múltiple” in Spanish and as well as bringing a super fun activity to the capital in this hot weather, organisers hope to raise awareness of the disease, and, of course, raise money for the charity.

The entrance fee for a two-hour stint riding down the water slide is 7 euro if you purchase an advanced ticket online, or 15 euro on the day at the ticket office. A rubber ring or inflatable will cost a euro extra or participants are welcome to bring their own.

The slide will be located on the Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, opposite the Retiro Park and there will be a maximum number of people allowed on the slide at any given time.

Peak hours will probably be 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm.

If the Spanish capital is a little far for you to travel to take part in this event, the big waterslide will be coming to other cities, including Zaragoza, Almería, Segovia and Toledo, in the near future, although no dates have been confirmed as yet.
