Another Ibiza beach closed to clear tanker fuel

IBIZA – Another beach in Ibiza has been closed while clean up teams try to remove fuel spilled from a sunken tanker.

The beach at S’Estanyol in Santa Eulalia as crews cleaned fuel from the sunken tanker ‘Don Pedro’, which went down off the island last week.

There are not expected to be many residues.

Authorities on the holiday island said the beach was expected to be re-opened on Thursday. 

They added two other beaches which have been closed, at Talamanca and Figueretes should also be re-opened.

They have been had a red flag on the beach since Tuesday.

Authorities said it was hoped all beaches and the sea near where the tanker went down could be declared clear by Friday.
