I read one of your responses to another on this board and I'm also interested in learning German. I have access to Rosetta Stone, but it seems a bit kludgy and "separate" from actually communicating with someone via a foreign language. Would your offer to assist them extend to others? I'm looking at the possibility of moving to Germany, but would like to be well-prepared before doing so. Thank you.

My partner ( Gabi ) and I wish to determine the most effective method for me to learn German. The 'goal' would be, over the months/years, to become proficient while the realistic objective will be to be able to engage in reasonable conversation and read German.

The myriad of approaches, from Berlitz to private instructor is daunting ! Some informed, wise and understanding advice will be so appreciated !!!

Thanks......

Michael
