Hi Joe,
I am having a hard time getting my deposit money from a renting agency. I rented a furnished apartemnt for 3 months, I gave them proper notice( 1 month) before leaving. The apartments is spotless but they are giving excuses for 3 weeks now. Any suggestion how to handle the situation? I gave them the deposit in Cash! Thank you. Marina

Hello Joe
I'm about to buy a house here, my wife is still in London. I have been told that either I can sign for the house with the notary, or my wife could sign as well - I have a choice. As far as I can see it will be less complicated if I were to sign alone. Are there any advantages / disadvantages of having one or two buyers? After all, being married, our property is presumably linked anyway? Thanks, Adam

Hello Joe, I want to purchase an investment property (mehrfamilienhaus) in the frankfurt area; but the numbers just don't add up. Rental income seems very low when compared to the purchase price making this a poor investment. It seems that a stateside real estate investment would be a more profitable option. What is the secret to making money on a real estate investment in germany? Thanks.

My husband and I are considering moving to Cologne with our five children (ages 11, 9, 8, 6, and 4). He would be getting a job transfer with his company. We are wondering about the availability of rental apartments/flats/homes for large families like ours. Are there rental properties for families as large as ours? We know that we have an unusual situation with the number of children we have, and we want to be sure that we would have rental options. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,
We are looking at buying a flat in Germany. Our broker says we don't need a lawyer, only a Notary. Is this correct?
Thank you very much.

Good morning Expert,

I am currently renting in Luxembourg but I am seeing both rental and buying prices in Germany being much less.

Are there any grants or government assistance to buying a new house in Germany (like in Luxembourg, i.e. 1st time buyer, 1st occupancy VAT rebate, etc) ... that can help with the 30% expected equity requirement on the buyer?

Thanks,
tony

Dear Expert,

My wife and I live ONLY in completely furnished vacation rental houses or apartments. We move with the seasons...north in the summer...south in the winter.
We would like to rent a vacation rental in Germany for six to seven months....April to October...preferably in Bavaria...Muenchen if possible, or the suburbs. We can spend up to $2,000 a month.
Any suggestions? Oh, we have a kitty who travels with us.

Thanks,
RedSunn

Thank you,
