Hello,
I work in an international Company in Germany. I had a child and I took a year of maternity. When I came back I asked to work part time only in the morning because of my child. We had to agree the come back and they made me do late shift even having cut my hours. I agree with my Boss to tell him after 6 months if it was not working. For several reasons is not working and I said on March to my bosses. Is July and they haven't changed anything, not even talked to me about anything. What can I do? Thanks

A member of my family was working in an office in Germany as an intern. He has made one or two mistakes which resulted in the company losing money. They have terminated his contract and are trying to recover the money from him. His job description stated he was to assist in book keeping but nothing about repaying any losses. It is clear that no one above him checked the figures. Do you think the organisation is within their rights to demand this money?

Thank you.

Hi Mr RIchards,
I saw your replies on shortening the Notice period and leaving the company earlier, and the right they'd have to sue me. In my case I have 6 months notice period, and after 3 months they won't let me go earlier despite my goodwill requests. If I just walk away, in case they'd want to go to court, what would be the impact for me? Would they ask for a compensation of any kind?
Thanks for your views,
Fric

I am working on establishing a startup that provides web development services online for companies in Qatar and GCC, but since there are a lot of barriers for me as an expat to start a company here, and since am interested in moving later to Germany, what are the procedures to start a company there, and do you advice me to do so?
Am Palestinian, and my wife (co-founder) is Jordanian, is it possible that she could handle the operations in Germany while I stay in Qatar to run sales operations?

Dear Mr Richards, I am currently working in a German company but I want to leave. I am in probation period. In the contract there is written that I have to give 15 days of pre-notice. My question is does it have to be the 1st or the 15th of the month or can I do it like the 5th? Thank you very much. Elena

Hello, I am a full time freelancer/ self employed artist who is thinking of relocating from the UK to Germany. My partner has been offered a full time job in Germany and I would like to join him. However, I want to know what that means for me. Currently, I do not earn much (approx £6000pa) as I am working on a long project which has yet to make me money. Would I start paying German tax when I arrive? What about health insurance/ pension? We hope to return to UK in 3 years. Thank you.
