Dubbed a "master of enlightenment," American Nobel Prize-winning scientist Roger Tsien is this year's distinguished lecturer in the annual Pauli series at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich ETH. Tsien is a molecular engineer famous for his research into a fluorescent protein, originally found in a jellyfish, that can be modified to track molecules using different colours, with potential application in cancer surgery.
