Roger Federer beats Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in a 90-minute tennis match on Wednesday.

London -- Five-time champion Roger Federer entered the Wimbledon third round on Wednesday with a win over Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Federer, bidding for a record 15th Grand Slam title, will play either Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany or Ivo Minar of the Czech Republic for a place in the last 32.

"All three sets were pretty similar. He was close to winning the first game and then I broke. He made the semi-finals in Eastbourne last week, so I couldn't afford to underestimate him," said Federer.

The Swiss star earned a 4-1 lead in the first set and then won another double break in the second against his 26-year-old opponent.

Federer won after just 90 minutes on court.

"I didn't have to play my very best today. I had to be solid and that's what I was," added the second seed.

"There are many rounds to pass and there will be guys who have nothing to lose against me. But I'm confident and I'm playing great."
