A 60-million-franc project to establish a museum to honour movie legend Charlie Chaplin in the Vaud village where he lived, near Vevey, moves a step forward with the granting of a building permit. A private foundation, with the backing of the Chaplin family, is planning to open Chaplins World in two years to showcase the life of the great 20th-century cineaste in the manor where he spent the last 24 years of his life.
