Several wounded as construction crane topples in Swiss town

A construction crane fell over late Wednesday in a Swiss town, injuring several people, police said.

Rescue workers were scrambled to the scene of the accident in Saint Sulpice, which lies on the outskirts of the city of Lausanne.

Local newspaper 24 Heures reported on its website that two people were trapped in the rubble.

Police did not immediately give details of the number of people hurt, nor the seriousness of their injuries, and did not say why the crane appeared to have tumbled.
