Belgian caught doing 246km/h

BRUSSELS – A Belgian driver has been caught doing 246km/h on a French motorway.

He was stopped on the A16 in northern France, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The 44 year old man, who was driving a BMW, was pulled over when he stopped at a road toll.

His driving licence was taken and he may face a six month ban.

There was no evidence he had been drinking alcohol.

The speed limit on French motorways in good weather is 130 km/h.
