“2008 will be a top employment year”

9 January 2008 – The biggest 50 Belgian employers plan to hire a total of 17,581 people. This is even more than in 2006 which was already a very good year.

The monthly Bizz Magazine has carried out a survey among companies on their vacancy expectations for 2008. The survey reveals that Colruyt Supermarket chain will have the most vacancies in the offing: no less than 2500 jobs.

Companies such as Euroclear; Fortis, ING, and KBC bank, Belgacom, Electrabel and Ikea are all actively recruiting people.

The banks are at the top of the list, apart from Colruyt, for recruits.

Vacancies are available at all levels, but a large percentage target inexperienced young graduates and older people on the job market.
