A 44-year-old Belgian was killed by three robbers who stormed into his son’s house in Pretoria.

PRETORIA -- A 44-year-old Belgian man was killed in a violent robbery in a neighbourhood of Pretoria, in South Africa.

Chris Theunis from Limburg went to Pretoria to visit his son who is turning 18.

According to South African newspaper Beeld, Theunis, his son and some friends were in the house on Saturday where three armed men stormed in. Theunis was shot in the chest and was taunted by the aggressors before dying.

The newspaper also reported that the boys were brutally beat and one of their girlfriend was raped in front of the rest.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs is investigating the murder. According to the foreign affairs department, there have been many similar brazen robberies and attacks in the same neighbourhood recently.
