The Royal Palace points out that the organisation does not possess the authorisation needed to use pictures of members of the Belgian royal family.

The website employs photos of King Albert and King Filip as part of a campaign intended to emphasise the discrete nature of its website.

King Albert is seen whispering to his son, King Filip: "Good counsel, my son, always be discrete." The snapshot was taken during King Filip's swearing in ceremony. It is highly similar to the picture featured above.

Pierre-Emmanuel De Bauw, head of palace communications: "I contacted the company's press contact and have asked for the campaign to be halted immediately, because they are wrongly using a photograph of the royal family. I also told them that I would make this information public."

At present no legal steps are planned.

The commercial use of pictures like these requires authorisation.

The use of the photograph follows many months of speculation about the true parentage of the Belgian artist Delphine Boël. Ms Boël insists that she is King Albert's love child born out of wedlock.
