Shares down 3.3%

Shares on the Brussels Euronext Stock Exchange fell by an average 3.3% during Monday trading. In common with most other European exchanges, the Euronext had opened down on Friday’s close.

While most blue chip shares were down slightly, the telecommunications company Mobistar recorded a slight (0.15%) rise in its share value.

Shares in the bank and insurance Group KBC were down by just under 5%.

Dexia ended 8.6% down despite having been 10% down at one stage.

Fortis was up 0.5% at 90 eurocents.
