Read the Flemish press – in English

3 April 2008

The Flemish foreign policy minister Geert Bourgeois has announced the launch of a new daily review of the Flemish press for English-speakers.

The aim of the new service is to inform foreign decision-makers about current affairs in the region.

The daily press review will also be available on the website of the weekly free newspaper Flanders Today.

The Flanders Today website also features a digest of articles from flandersnews.be.

The prime minister has called on Flemings with friends, neighbours, colleagues or business contacts in the international community to help with the promotion of the new service.

He hopes that the daily press review will provide the international community with an objective source of information about Flanders.

Embassies and correspondents
Bourgeois’ latest initiative is aimed primarily at embassies, correspondents and those working at international institutions such as NATO and the EU.

However, anyone interested in the Flemish press can subscribe to the daily digest of news and views.

Subscribers will receive a short press summary in the morning, before being sent translations of complete articles at around 3pm.

Anyone who wish to subscribe to the new service can do so by clicking here.
