New search actions in Annick case

DIEST – Divers from the federal police and the fire brigade in Diest searched the waters of the Demer in Diest on Friday as part of the investigation into the murder of 18-year-old Annick Van Uytsel.

The dives took place near the Saspoort, which is along the route that the girl would have normally taken on her way home the morning of her disappearance.

Search actions were also carried out in the Albert canal in Lummen and in Halen over the past few days.

Authorities hope one of these searches will turn up the girl’s bicycle, mobile phone and bag. Nothing has been found so far however.
