“Fly to your dream”

The Belgian Air Force held a careers fair at the Kleine Brogel military airbase in Limburg province on Wednesday. A total of 41 new pilots and air traffic controllers need to be recruited.

25 Flemings and 16 Francophones are to be taken on.

The "Fly to your dream" career’s fair is part of a Defence Ministry campaign to attract youngsters to join the Air Force.

Youngsters between the ages of 17 and 20 can learn all they need to know about the Air force and obtain information about the various career opportunities on offer.

Furthermore, they also get a unique chance to go behind the scene at a working airbase.

"We’re especially interested in finding people that want to become F-16 pilots.” Major Peter Lepez told journalists.

According to a spokesman at the airbase, around 170 young people attended the careers’ fair. The event ended with a flying display by military planes.
