The Dutch employment market
Although hard to imagine in the current economic climate, particularly with the growing unemployment rate in the Netherlands, the shortage in the skilled and highly-educated workforces is expected to grow in the coming year(s). This is what the experts say abuot the subject:

The shortage of skilled healthcare workers, for example, could seriously impact the level of care in the next 10 years, writes the Dutch government on their website: “1.3 million people work in the healthcare and social welfare sector in the Netherlands. Over the next 15 to 20 years, over 40,000 extra staff will be needed – if we want to continue to provide care in the same way – to cope with the growing number of elderly people requiring care.”

“If the current demand-supply gap is not met soon, about 3000 to 5000 skilled job vacancies per year will go unfulfilled in the Eindhoven region alone,” said Rob van Gijzel, mayor of Eindhoven , the community with the fastest-growing job market in the country.

With this in mind, Expatica is again organising the International Job Fair, a one-stop shop for international job seekers, on 2 November 2014.

We’ve invited a range of exhibitors to offer you a helping hand

Exhibitors include experts from different types of institutions: international companies looking to recruit internationals, recruitment agencies, and organisations representing a whole region.

Visitors can chat with recruiters, get advice on writing a resume or application letter, learn about the Dutch job market, or just embrace the opportunity to mix with hundreds of like-minded internationals.

Get invaluable information about surviving abroad
The programme will include expert presentations on a variety of work-related topics, from ‘How to prepare for a job interview in the Netherlands’, to ‘How to apply with your CV’ and even ‘How to translate your expat experience into skills for your career’.

All of this in one day! Whether you have lived in the Netherlands for a few days, months or years, or are yet to move, make sure you keep Sunday 2 November free on your calendars for this opportunity.

The International Job Fair will take place at the easily accessible Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, located only a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station.
