Evidence closes in on son

BRUSSELS – The damaging evidence against Leopold Storme is piling up. Not only are detectives certain that he was not in De Panne on Saturday night as he claims, they have evidence he was in Brussels. It has also emerged that he was in possession of hallucinogenic drugs.

The questioning of Leopold Storme, suspected of murdering his parents and sister in the Brussels neighbourhood of Marollen on Saturday night, has still not made any progress. But the detectives are convinced that forensic investigators are quickly closing the net on the suspect.

Storme still cannot account for where he was or what he was doing on Saturday night. But investigators have found registration of Leopold’s mobile phone signal in Brussels on Saturday night. A call to his grandmother was also made from his phone on Sunday morning; the signal shows that the call was made from Brussels, not from De Panne where Leopold claims he was at the time.

Investigators are also looking closely into Leopold’s drug use. Friends say he was not a drug user or heavy drinker, but they also report that he had gone to great lengths to purchase cannabis and hallucinogenic mushrooms on Friday. Friends that spent time with him at his parents’ apartment on Friday night say he did not use the drugs that night.
