Brussels Post Office drivers go on strike

22 September 2008

BRUSSELS — The drivers of the Post Office distribution centre in Brussels are on strike on Monday.

Two weeks ago, the trade union submitted an official announcement of a planned strike. Talks between the management and unions have since failed to resolve the problems.

The strikers are complaining about their working conditions. They say that there is too much work pressure- especially after the two departments Kilopost and Taxipost merged.

The strike means that big companies and the government will be unable to get their mail delivered to them on Monday.
