Innerworld Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Hi, I’m Himani.
(BSc, MSc, MBPsS, PGDip, FPC Member, BPS Member)
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I have been in the field of mental health for the past 10 years.
Feelings, and their expression, are at the heart of human health. Feelings and emotions are energies. Energy can never be destroyed, only transformed. Therein, by not verbalising inner feelings, it does not disappear, instead gets transformed into something else where it can find expression. This includes your body, and the associated physical health problems that one faces. Your body is speaking to you and wants to be heard.
A safe and confidential space is provided to explore your inner world and release those blocked energies through the appropriate channels, with ‘talking therapy’ and becoming more self-aware.
With my international background, and having worked in various countries, I appreciate diversity and welcome clients from all cultures.
I adhere to the professional codes of ethics and conduct set out by the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy process consists of meeting with me on a regular basis, usually weekly, for sessions that last fifty minutes. We can determine together the frequency of sessions. This stable, confidential structure gives us the chance to connect with and understand what is happening at a deeper level. By being so generous with time, attention and thought, this therapy can bring about authentic and lasting change.
It is open-ended long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, which means the client may decide when to end the therapy and we will work towards an ending together.
Children, adults, and elderly people are all welcome. I work with all ages.
I provide individual therapy in the therapy practice and online therapy.
