Dear Sir or Madam,

1. You have the firm intention to come and live (or work) in Belgium in the short term:

A scan of an ID document (passport for example), your future address in Belgium if you already have a signed lease here or an official document with your current address in the UK (scan ok). If you want to open the account before arrival, a copy of your work contract here may help. The Belgian bank will typically have to meet with you in person at least once to finalise the bank the account opening.

2. You do not have the intention to move to Belgium, at least not in the short term:

A scan of an ID document (passport for example), a scan of an official document with your current address in the UK. The Belgian bank will also want to know what the purpose of the bank account is? What kind of transactions do you want to do with it? The Belgian bank will typically have to meet with you in person at least once to finalise the bank the account opening, still at some mayor Belgian banks this can be done in their London office, if more convenient.
