Yemeni security surround house of parcels suspect: president
Yemeni security forces surrounded a house in Sanaa on Saturday night where a woman suspected of links to two parcel bombs destined for the United States was staying, President Ali Abdullah Saleh said.
"Yemeni security forces are surrounding a house in Sanaa where a woman suspected of having sent the two parcels is staying," Saleh told reporters.
"Yemen is determined to fight terror but will not allow anyone to intervene in its affairs," the president vowed.
Two suspected Al-Qaeda parcel bombs sent from Sanaa were intercepted in Dubai and Britain on Friday.
Saleh's remarks came hours after a top advisor to US President Barack Obama told him that Washington was "ready to assist the Yemeni government and the Yemeni people in their fight against Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula."
