Police in Thailand said Monday they had issued an arrest warrant for a British kickboxer suspected of stabbing a US Marine to death on the resort island of Phuket.

Police have begun a manhunt for Thai resident Lee Aldhouse, 28, over the killing of Dashawn Longfellow, 23, at a hotel early Saturday, hours after the pair reportedly had a fight in a bar.

"We informed immigration that this man was a murder suspect and got an arrest warrant and team to hunt him," Police Colonel Anukul Nooket said.

Both men are believed to have trained in Muay Thai kickboxing. Longfellow was in Phuket after sustaining a combat injury in Afghanistan, according to local media reports.
