Royal Dutch Shell has signed a deal to supply Taiwanese state energy company CPC Corporation with two million tonnes of liquefied natural gas a year from 2016, the Anglo-Dutch group said on Monday.

Royal Dutch Shell unit Shell Eastern Trading will supply the LNG for 20 years, according to a statement.

"This is the first long-term LNG deal between Shell and CPC. The agreement will see Shell become one (of) the main suppliers of LNG to Taiwan," it added.

No financial details were disclosed.
