Protesters on roof of Libyan embassy in London: police
Protesters climbed on the roof of the Libyan embassy in central London on Wednesday, replacing the flag of Moamer Kadhafi's regime with their own, police said.
"A group of four or five protesters climbed up to the roof of the Libyan embassy in London at about 2:50am (0250 GMT)," a spokesman told AFP, adding that police officers were still talking with them at about 8:00am (0800 GMT).
Two men aged 25 and 26 were arrested for trespassing after trying to climb onto the roof, the spokesman said.
He could not give details of the flag which the protesters flew in place of Kadhafi's green standard, but anti-regime protesters have regularly used the Libyan monarchist flag as a symbol of their cause.
Demonstrators had previously replaced the flag at the London embassy with the black, red and green flag with a crescent and star which Kadhafi has banned for more than 40 years.
