Pope Benedict XVI is "calm" and the Vatican has full confidence in the police, a spokesman said Friday, after five men were arrested over an alleged terrorist plot during his visit to Britain.

"We're totally calm, the pope is happy," Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi told reporters. "We can say that we're totally confident in the work of the police."
