Police arrest man in England over NIreland murder
A 22-year old man was arrested in southern England on Monday as part of the investigation into the murder of a Catholic policeman in Northern Ireland last year, police said.
The man, from Omagh, County Tyrone, was detained in Milton Keynes, north of London, late Monday, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.
"A 22-year-old man from Omagh has been arrested in England as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr and linked incidents," said a PSNI spokesman.
"The arrest took place in Milton Keynes earlier this evening and was made by officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit at the request of PSNI Serious Crime Branch detectives."
Kerr, 25, died when a bomb exploded under his car at his Omagh home in April 2011 in an attack blamed on dissident republicans.
