Mother charged with murder of three children in Britain
The mother of three young children found dead at their home in Britain was charged with their murder Friday.
The bodies of Theresa Riggi's eight-year-old twin boys Augustino and Gianluca and five-year-old daughter Cecilia were found in the property in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Wednesday.
Riggi, 46, was taken to hospital after apparently falling from a balcony following the blast, initially thought to have been caused by a gas leak.
However, police later said there was no fault with the supply.
Riggi had moved to Europe from Colorado in the United States with her husband, who works for oil company Shell.
"A 46-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the petition warrant which was granted earlier today," a spokesman for the local police force said.
"Due to the medical condition of the accused, it is not at this time known when she will appear in court."
