Katzenjammer on new UK tour: 28 April - 30 April 2011

The band Katzenjammer, with four talented and crazy girls from Oslo, is returning to the UK in April. Prepare for three wild gigs in London, Glasgow and Leeds!

is as crazy as their name. According to their management, the band "delivers their very own speckled brand of balkan cowpunk, vaudevillian rowdiness, swamp-soaked blues and the occasional eye-moistening moment of pure beauty."

Over the past two years the Katzenjammer girls - Anne Marit, Solveig, Marianne and Turid - have played around the globe, and they have visited UK with great success. Katzenjammer opened for Keane at the O2 arena in London in 2009 and toured the UK the following summer. They played at the Great Escape in Brighton in 2010 and were a part of ‘the Next Big Thing' festival in February 2011. Now they're once again returning to the UK as part of their 2011 European tour.

The four girls play over thirty different instruments between them and  sing spot-less harmonies while playing silly games with the crowd.  As John Bownas of virtualfestivals.com says: "This is a wild polka-pop ride that skips daintily and charmingly from folk to swing and transfixes half the crowd whilst spurring the other half to dancing like they haven't got work in the morning."
