German Muslim converts appear in London on terror charges
Two German men appeared at a British court on Wednesday after they were arrested at an English port on suspicion of terror offences.
Robert Baum, 23, and Christian David Erkart Heinz Emde, 28, were detained at the southern English port of Dover on July 15 after they were found with computers which allegedly contained ideological material relating to Islamist extremism.
The two Muslim converts were charged on Tuesday "with the collection or possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000".
The pair were remanded in further custody and will appear again at London's City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 24.
