George Michael leaves Vienna hospital: report
British singer George Michael has been discharged from the Vienna hospital where he has been for the past month and is due to fly back home for Christmas, Austrian media reported Thursday.
The British singer, 48, who had been in intensive care with a severe bout of pneumonia, left hospital on Friday morning and was taken by limousine to Vienna airport, the Oesterreich tabloid reported, citing hospital workers.
"He is a lot better. So much so that he can fly," the paper quoted one hospital employee as saying on its website.
Contacted by AFP, Vienna's general hospital (AKH) declined to comment.
The former Wham! singer was forced by the illness to postpone the rest of his "Symphonica" tour, having performed 45 shows. He had been due to give a concert in the Austrian capital when he was admitted to hospital.
