Ferry passenger drowns in Channel
A cross-Channel ferry passenger drowned off the French port of Calais on Saturday when he fell into the water, French maritime police said.
The P&O ferry company's Pride of Burgundy reported the missing passenger about three nautical miles off Calais as it was heading to Dover shortly before 7:00 pm (1700 GMT).
His lifeless body was found half an hour later after the ferry and the Pride of Calais, which was on its way to Calais, launched a search.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. The identity of the passenger was not known.
