Ex-Stereophonics drummer found dead
Stuart Cable, the former drummer of British rock band Stereophonics, was found dead at his home on Monday, police said.
They are not treating the death as suspicious, a South Wales Police spokeswoman said.
She confirmed "the sudden death" of a 40-year-old man in the village of Llwydcoed, northwest of Cardiff, at around 5:30 am (0430 GMT).
Cable was the original drummer in the Stereophonics, a Welsh indie band that was formed in 1992 and at its peak supported the likes of the Rolling Stones and U2.
Cable left the group in 2003 and went on to host radio and television shows. Most recently, he had been hosting a rock show on BBC Radio Wales.
"Cause of death has not yet been established. However, there are no suspicious circumstances at this stage. Next of kin have been informed," the police spokeswoman added.
England footballer Wayne Rooney is a huge fan of the band and famously got the title of their 2001 album tattooed on his right arm. It reads: "Just Enough Education To Perform."
