Cameron leaves for London after father's death: officials
British Prime Minister David Cameron set off to return to Britain on Thursday after a night in southern France following the death of his father there, officials said.
Cameron left Bregancon, where he spent the night with his family at Nicolas Sarkozy's presidential holiday home, by car for Nice airport, where security officials said he was to take off for Britain around 1:00 pm (1100 GMT).
The prime minister had rushed from London on Wednesday to the bedside of his 77-year-old father Ian in the Mediterranean port of Toulon after he suffered a stroke while on holiday.
Ian Cameron died on Wednesday afternoon after his son made and other children made it to his bedside. Officials gave no information about the return of his body.
