A British national is missing in Afghanistan, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.
"We can confirm that a British national is missing in Afghanistan," a spokeswoman said. "We are working with other international agencies to urgently investigate."
Sky News reported that a British woman working for an American company had been taken hostage along with other people after a convoy of two vehicles they were travelling in was ambushed by insurgents in Kunar Province, eastern Afghanistan.
