Briton found dead in Mexico after hurricane
The death toll from Hurricane Odile rose to six Monday after authorities in northwestern Mexico found the body of a missing British man on an island.
Paul Whitehouse, 45, had been missing since Odile thrashed the Baja California peninsula on September 14 while he was on a sailboat with his wife, Simone Wood, also 45, whose body was found over the weekend.
"Six people have now lost their lives due to the effects of Hurricane Odile," Baja California Sur state prosecutor Adonai Carreon told AFP.
Two South Korean mining executives, a German man and a Mexican are the other victims from the storm, which wrecked luxury hotels, destroyed homes in poorer neighborhoods and knocked out water and electricity services.
The two Britons were found on the island of El Mogote, near the state capital, La Paz.
