British official retail sales flatten in November

British retail sales flattened in November from activity in October, the Office for National Statistics said on Thursday.

Market expectations had been for a gain of 0.3 percent, according to analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.

Sales in November meanwhile rose 0.9 percent compared with the same period a year earlier, which dashed forecasts for a larger rise of 1.4 percent.
