British official inflation eases to 3.2 percent

Twelve-month inflation in Britain fell to 3.2 percent in June from 3.4 percent in May, official data showed on Tuesday.

Market expectations had been for a bigger drop in inflation to 3.1 percent, according to analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.

The Bank of England's main task is to keep annual British inflation close to a target of 2.0 percent.
