British jobless rate slips to 7.8 percent: official data

Britain's unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in the three months to the end of May, official data showed on Wednesday.

The unemployment rate compared with 7.9 percent in the three months to April, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.

The number of unemployed people, meanwhile, dropped by 34,000 in the three months to the end of May to reach 2.47 million.
