British envoy warns of new UN Council action against Libya
New Security Council action against Libya, including a no-fly zone, is possible, British envoy Mark Lyall Grant said Tuesday, declaring: "we are not ruling anything out at this stage."
"We will look at what is happening on the ground and we will look to take whatever measures we consider necessary to respond to events on the ground," Lyall Grant told reporters after the UN General Assembly suspended Libya from the UN Human Rights Council.
The 15-nation Security Council unanimously passed sanctions against Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi on Saturday. Lyall Grant said new consultations on Libya were already taking place.
