British Foreign Secretary Hague in Tunisia
British Foreign Secretary William Hague Tuesday arrived in Tunisia at the start of a three-day visit to north Africa and the Middle East, the Foreign Office said.
Hague, who will visit five countries, is due to meet leading figures from Tunisia's interim government, including Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi.
The former Conservative party leader will use the trip to urge Middle East countries to foster economic growth and greater political openness after the popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia, a Foreign Office statement said.
He is also expected to unveil further funding for British projects aimed at boosting access to justice and freedom of expression in the region.
