British manufacturing output grew by 0.3 percent in June compared with May, official data showed on Friday -- a weaker rate than had been expected by analysts.

It jumped by 4.1 percent in June from the level 12 months earlier, the Office for National Statistics added in a statement.

Economists had been expecting manufacturing output to increase 0.6 percent on the month and 4.4 percent on a 12-month basis, according to a survey by Dow Jones Newswires.
