British manufacturing output rose for a third month running in July, official data showed on Wednesday.

Output climbed by 0.3 percent compared with June, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. The rise was in-line with analysts' consensus forecast.

Manufacturing production meanwhile climbed by 4.9 percent in July compared with the level one year earlier. The gain was the highest level for almost 16 years, although analysts had expected a slightly bigger increase of 5.0 percent.
