Britain tells nationals to leave Bahrain
Britain on Tuesday advised any nationals still in Bahrain to leave the protest-hit country as soon as possible and promised to assist anyone who needed evacuating.
"The overall level of the advice has changed," the Foreign Office said.
"We advise against all travel to Bahrain; we recommend those who do not have a pressing reason to remain should leave by commercial means as soon as it is safe to do so."
The Foreign Office advisory came a day after Saudi and Emirati troops moved into the kingdom to help its rulers deal with a wave of pro-democracy protests.
At least 200 people were shot and wounded on Tuesday in a Shiite village south of the Bahraini capital, as violence between the rulling Sunnis and majority Shiite community escalated.
