Britain names annual budget for March 23
The British government will unveil its next annual budget on March 23 next year, finance minister George Osborne revealed on Thursday.
"The Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has confirmed that the Budget will take place on Wednesday 23 March 2011," the Treasury said in a statement.
It will be Osborne's second budget since the coalition government seized power in May.
The chancellor last month unveiled plans to axe almost half a million public sector jobs, slash budgets and welfare benefits, as it sought to curb a record deficit for Britain.
