Britain lifts 2010 economic growth forecast

Britain on Monday raised its 2010 economic growth forecast to 1.8 percent from 1.2 percent and lowered the predicted amount of public-sector job losses arising from a government austerity drive.

However, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) added in a statement that gross domestic product would grow more slowly than expected in 2011 and 2012.
