Britain condemns 'callous act of terrorism' in Jerusalem
British Foreign Secretary William Hague condemned the bus bombing in Jerusalem Wednesday which left one dead and more than 30 wounded, saying it was a "callous and disgusting act of terrorism".
Hague said news of the explosion was "shocking and deeply distressing", adding: "I send my sincere condolences to all those who have been affected and my sympathy to the people of Israel as they come to terms with this news."
He said: "This appears to have been a callous and disgusting act of terrorism directed against innocent civilians which I condemn unreservedly.
"I would like to express the UK's unwavering support for the people of Israel in the face of such horrific acts."
The bomb, which police and officials said had been hidden in a bag at a bus stop near Jerusalem's central bus station, struck just hours after militants vowed revenge for two deadly Israeli raids on Gaza.
