Bear metal band Svölk is set to play a series of performances in the UK during Annihilator's Europe Tour 2010.
Norwegian hard rock/metal band Svölk, or bear metal as they say themselves, are set to perform in the UK between 10-20 November as part of the metal legend Annihilator’s European tour.
The band, who will be visiting Portsmouth, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol, Birmingham and London, released their last album (Svölk) in 2009; ‘history’s first Bear metal album- containing hard-rock from the deep forests of eastern Norway.’
Knut Erik Solhaug (vocal), Jengt Castral (guitar & vocals), Martin Østerhaug (guitar), Halstein Røyseland (bass & vocals) and Jørgen Seger Haave (drums) have for the last four years established a fast growing reputation for themselves on the Norwegian rock scene.
“Bear metal suits [Svölk’s] sound-picture pretty well” reviewer Petter Lønningen writes in Norwegian newspaper Bergens Tidene; “hot blooded and hairy bear metal- brutal and straight to the point.”
