Russian bailiffs said they searched the offices of BP in Moscow for the second day running on Thursday as part of a probe into the British firm's failed Arctic deal with Rosneft.

"The bailiffs continued their search of the BP Exploration Operating Company office, removing documents identified by the Tyumen District Arbitration Court," a spokesman for the Federal Bailiff Service told RIA Novosti.

The searches began a day after state-held Rosneft had signed a new Arctic exploration agreement with the US major ExxonMobil, essentially replacing the deal it had initially signed with BP.

The British firm is being sued over allged losses of 87 billion rubles ($3 billion) by a small group of minority shareholders in TNK-BP Holding, the company that operates BP's local joint venture.

The Tyumen hearing has been scheduled for September 21.
